Meet the Team
Kelly Chesshir, Founder
​
In the years leading up to the summer of 1992, Kelly saw an area of the construction industry that was lacking. While servicing his customers as an exterminator for Terminex, he saw leaking basements, wet crawlspaces, and mold on most calls. Some of the most important parts of the home were being ignored and it drove him to make a decision. He would become the solution. That fateful summer of 1992, Crawls was born. Most of the time Kelly was a one man show. He did it all from bidding a project to completion, he was the main point of contact. When things started to get busier, his beautiful bride LaDonna would work on her days off to help him complete projects. Many long days lay ahead of them, but they endured. Today, Crawls is the leader in all things waterproofing in the Wabash Valley.

Kelly has never met a stranger. His outgoing personality is a special trait that his customers find appealing. It has never been about just selling jobs for Kelly; rather, it's about meeting new people in need and supplying a remedy for that need.
​
Kelly is an avid golfer and bowler. He has traveled the nation playing in competitive softball tournaments and enjoys sports of all kinds. His favorite moments are spending time with his wife, LaDonna, and their many grandchildren. Now, with retirement looming, you can find Kelly on the golf course a little bit more than normal. But don’t be surprised if you find the founder of our company crawling around your home to find the solutions you need. It’s his passion and we doubt retirement will ever take that away.
Jeff Martin, President​

Jeff has spent the better part of twenty-five years working with top contractors in the nation. With a diverse background in both manufacturing and distribution, Jeff has seen all sides of the construction industry. “He has the experience to build upon our passion of being the leader in the waterproofing and service industry,” says founder Kelly Chesshir.

A passionate fisherman, Jeff finds more joy in family time. “Spending quality time with my wife, my sons and their families brings me more joy than I could ever explain,” he says. Married to his amazing wife, Susan, for over thirty years, they have three sons, three granddaughters and a grandson on the way. “Family is everything,”says Jeff.
​
When we asked him what his long term goal is while leading Crawls & Basement Renovations he said,
“To be the most professional crawlspace and basement contractor in the nation.” He also added, “To give the customer peace of mind knowing we used the latest technologies available to ensure the safety of their home”.
Josh Hardey, General Production Manager​
​
Josh has been with Crawl & Basement Renovations for sixteen years. During this time, he has mastered every aspect of what we do in the field. As a crew leader for seven of those years, he played a vital role in customer relations. In his current position as Production Manager, he has trained and developed field personnel into the best in the business.
“His experience is vital to our company,” says founder Kelly Chesshir. “He has brought nothing but good things to the company”.
Fishing, kayaking, boating and camping are some of his everyday passions. He married his high school sweetheart, Sky, fifteen years ago and they have two young sons together. If he is not out doing the above hobbies, you can find him at our local Mexican restaurant. “I'm not sure if that is a hobby,” he says “but I do love me some Mexican food!"
Brad Hardey, Assistant Production Manager​

Brad has been with Crawls & Basement Renovations for seven and a half years. Over five of those he has been a crew lead in the field. Brad has vast experience in flooring wood work, bracing and basement waterproofing. His crawl space knowledge is undeniable as well. He is a great communicator with our clients, keeping them updated on the progress of their projects as we move thru the different phases.

As an Army veteran, Brad takes his job responsibilities seriously and strives for perfection. He pushes his team to be better everyday and he loves to lead. Brad has a daughter and granddaughter he loves to spend time with. He also loves to travel and experience culture first hand.
As our Assistant Production Manager, Brad will most likely will be your main point of contact once the project moves into the construction phase.
Janice (Jan) Campbell - Office Manager​
​
Jan has been with Crawl & Basement Renovations for over sixteen years. During this time she has managed all activities related to our office from payroll, accounts receivable and payable, permitting, audits and more. Most of the time she will be the friendly voice on the other end of the line scheduling your upcoming inspection.
​
Janice is passionate about her border collies. An avid dog handler, her collies compete in agility sporting events around the nation.
“Having a friendly voice on the other end of the line is important to us. We don’t ever want to feel corporate. We are your hometown professional contractor. Jan helps us keep that model going,” says Jeff Martin.
Susan Martin - Chief Marketing Officer

Susan oversees the marketing strategies as a company and ensures they meet our strict criteria. She is passionate about delivering relevant content and context to our media without feeling over bearing to the potential client. Her career has spanned thirty years, most of which has been in the home-ecking engineer arena.
​
She is a mom to three boys: Sean, Darrik, and Bryce, three granddaughters and a soon to be born grandson. Her passions are golfing and bowling, but she loves to sit down and watch the Hallmark channel with a cup of hot tea or cocoa as well.
​
When asked what her greatest passion was she said, "I just love being a mom and a grammy!"
